With Museomix we offer the experience of open museums where everyone can find their own place, a museum which changes with the people who enter, a community who co-works and shares ideas and resources.<\/p>\n

What does Museomix do ?<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It takes part in museum\u2019s transformation<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It builds a cultural forward-looking community and stimulates its skills\u2019 development.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It creates an original experience for visitors (prototypes, new behaviours) and provides innovative ways to use technology.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It builds methods, assessments, feedback, technological bricks and contents<\/p>\n

All these are commons which feed local communities and are expanded by them. They are called Museomix commons.<\/p>\n

Each member of the Museomix community benefits from this and is expected to take part in it.<\/p>\n

We want to stress that those commons are at the heart of our organisation: we are all expected to expand, preserve and share them as much as possible.<\/p>\n

<\/a>2\/ Assessment: a well-known but fragile commons<\/span><\/h2>\n

Two years ago we helped local communities experience Museomix so we shared everything and included everyone. A lot of new, very enthusiastic people joined the community.<\/p>\n

We are aware that we sometimes miss the correspondence ?and the support for various initiatives. The actions, ideas, initiatives of each and every person are not always completely integrated into the commons and therefore the value of our common production is diminished. And the risk is to run out of \u00a0energy and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n

Last year, we put into place a new structure with one person in charge of coordination, 2 meetings with local community leaders, dashboards and cross-disciplinary working groups. But we realised it was not enough and that our commons are fragile.<\/p>\n

<\/a>3\/ Target: to build a flexible organisation in order to help the community \u201chelp itself\u201d and strengthen its commons.<\/h2>\n

To monitor things in order to help everybody who wants to profit from Museomix commons so that everyone can find its own place in the community.<\/p>\n

To enlarge \/ develop \/ increase the number of the commons and to protect them.<\/p>\n

As feedback we expect all results to become part of the commons in order to be used by every member of the community in every following project.<\/p>\n

<\/a>To stimulate initiatives :<\/h3>\n

Every idea should be \u00a0more or less connected with Museomix : it increases Museomix template or it is inspired by Museomix (same process for other projects, for different institutions than<\/p>\n

museums, prototypes\u2019 industrialisation) \u00a0; all these ideas are welcome but we must see clearly \u00a0which is Museomix and which is not.<\/p>\n

Museomix is a protected appellation and its name can\u2019t be used for something which is not part of Museomix.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/h2>\n

<\/a>To reach those targets, the community has to :<\/h3>\n

1. Integrate community management actions.<\/span><\/h4>\n

It means networking, (and not only using online social networks), to help (new) local communities.<\/p>\n

2. Integrate commons management.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This means to protect the commons and to prevent people from using them and not giving anything in return.<\/p>\n

3. Integrate development.<\/span><\/h4>\n

This means identifying new needs, taking part in the community development and the permanent evolution of Museomix, linking with surrounding initiatives in order to integrate them into the Musomix concept (or not).<\/p>\n

4. Integrate common resources management<\/span>.<\/h4>\n

This means the management of the different aspects which support the commons (ie: administrative tools, program coordination, updating the contacts and the website, organising meetings)<\/p>\n

All these different actions will be supported by people or groups of people. They may be volunteers or paid by external structures or by the Museomix association. We need to build and solidify this economic template.<\/p>\n

<\/a>4\/ To decide in order to promote action<\/h2>\n

We want to make it very clear that to be a member of the Museomix community is to contribute. Continue to take action until someone proposes something else. The need for validation must not stop acting on your ideas.<\/p>\n

Nowadays the way we work is this: if nobody says anything it means it\u2019s ok. But not everyone voices their opinion and therefore the ones who do appear more important. We want things to be clearer and easier: we want to know who decides on which subjects.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The founders<\/span><\/h4>\n

They are responsible the Museomix brand by putting it in the hand of the local communities and the museums with the name every year. Theyare responsible for\u00a0the purpose of Museomix, build upon the original values. This vision is explained in the Vision, Missions and Principles<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Decisions by the doers<\/span><\/h4>\n

Keeping with the do-ocraty principle, the people filling for the roles cited before, who are doing and helping the Museomix community, are the one that will be legitimate to take action and decide on their actions when they cannot reach consensus.<\/p>\n

The agora, a board to help with decisions<\/span><\/h4>\n

Some decisions have a big impact on the development or protection of the commons. Some decisions are hard to take. When people need help because decisions are difficult to take, they will be able to get the help of a board constituted of people who:<\/p>\n
